Introduction
As a state project, the Ministry selects and financially supports small-sized research institutes that maintain technical infrastructure and core technology so that the designated center can grow as a superior research institutes and dedicate resources to the public wellbeing and emerge as an industrial competitive power.
If a research center is so selected, it is supported financially for five years by the Ministry of Science & Technology.
The Pharmacogenomics Research Center of Inje University aims to establish a database of Drug Metabolizing Enzymes and Drug Transfer Proteins related to Koreans, and Pharmacogenomics knowledge to establish a technological foundation for tailored chemotherapy and personalized medicine.
The Research Center also aims to develop a database of Drug Metabolizing Enzymes and Pharmacogenomics of Drug Transfer Proteins, in a systemic manner from the molecular biological level to clinical medicine, all of which are designed to predict drug reactions to major therapeutic substances for Korean patients.
The Research Center ultimately aims to contribute to our national health through the development of optimally tailored chemotherapy and effective new drugs.
